Let's get rid of stomach fats now!

More than ever, now is the time when people are now much concerned about their stomach fats. You will know this because there are just too many websites trying to sell you into this. Why will they sell if they do not have the market?

More men and women have been trying to get into that six-pack abs and flattened stomachs because they can see the end result as being wonderful. More ab exercises have been out there available in CDs and YouTube videos.

More health conscious people have arisen due to the fact that many die because of obesity. Pregnant women who just delivered would like to go back to their usual slim body before they got pregnant. Those who are in their 40s would like to go back to their 20s image. Those who are depressed are finding ways to get away from picking on food because it makes them grow even bigger by the day.

People are now concerned. Sadly, not all will work. Many have been trying the fast way but will find out later to get back their fats again. Many have gone even fatter because of disappointment. Some are mere lazy. Something must work, though, and we just have to find the best stomach fat exercisers that works because if stomach fat is gone, so are the rest of the fats of the body.

Living Life to the Fullest's new blog lay-out!

Okay, I know there are a lot of talk out there about the DTI blogging contest permit issue and this makes my head spin. It's a  good thing that when I woke up yesterday I was surprised to see this new blog lay-out of mine, and it keeps me insanely happy throughout the day!

This blog already made a lot of changes. Check it out here and here

and the last one, my header looks like this:

this header was made by my husband since I really don't like to have the same blog look but since I have no moolah I have to ask him change the header and stick for a free one.

I love this blog so much, it opened a lot of opportunities for me. I am not talking about a lot of dollars here, but I am referring to online friends who have the same interests like me, and that I learned a lot from them.  I may not earn a lot here, but the knowledge I am getting from various people is priceless.

So, without further ado, I want to welcome you to this NEW look of this blog mine.  This might be the last make-over that this blog will get since I spend a few bucks now :)

I would like to thank Dress up your blog for making the long awaited make-over of this blog possible.

My husband loves it too.

The health conscious husband!

I am proud of my husband, he is now trying his best to live healthy. He changed his lifestyle, he eats less rice and avoids eating sweets and junk foods, he exercises daily, he drinks milk to increase his mass, but the only thing he cannot avoid to do is to sleep early and complete the 8 hours sleep because he still needs to work even after office hours.

His flabby tummy has 1 out of 6 pack of abs now (lolz).

He said that his motivation is that he wants to live long and if by doing so it will add a few more years to spend with us, then the hardship is all worth it. I am proud of him because he can control himself not to eat a lot even the meal is his favorite. He never forgets to have at least 30 minutes of exercise even though he has lots of things to do. Those things are very hard for me to follow.

I hope he will continue doing these things even though it's hard and the results are just gradual.

I know Ren is so proud of his dad too!

and oh by the way that's not him on the picture... his too shy to show his body to the public yet :)

He said, She said!

My husband and I always debate on the right way to discipline my son.

My husband Noel is a smart person, he said that he spends his childhood mostly inside the house playing virtual games, drawing comics or making little inventions. I, on the other hand, prefer playing outside the house with a bunch of neighbor kids, fighting for a piece of candy, and most of time going home with scratches everywhere.

He graduated valedictorian, while yours truly has one failing grade (Physics) in High School (nyahaha).

I had tons of friends from different status in life (rags and riches) and he has nerd friends (hi guys!!).

When we met, we knew we were very different from each other and yet we were very much in love with each other.

Unfortunately, since now that we have our own child, the way on how to raise our son makes it hard for us. There are times that I am really irritated because of that differences.  He knows he's right and I also know that I am right since we knew we were both raised well by our parents.

I then realized that even though we argue, our mission is still the same, and that is to give everything that we think is best for Ren. We talked about it, and I am grateful now that we learn to understand each other about it.

We realize that every kid is different so the parenting style or method should be flexible.  Even siblings are different, so an old method may work for some but not to others, that is why parenting is really a continuous learning experience.

and the winners are.....

Gosh, It took me 4 hours to upload this video (slow internet connection).

The first name that appears will get the $100, 2nd $30, 3rd $20 and additional 2 persons will get $5 each (4th and 5th name that appears)
to all the winners, please send me your paypal addresses if you have (levy.martinez8@gmail.com)

There are a total of 1713 entries, I gave 30 additional points to the first list of contestants who followed the sponsors through their GFC (that's before I revised the mechanics).

Also, I will announce the winner of the special prize for the blogging contest. I like all the entries of the blogger contestants especially those in the Top 11 list, but I commend one entry that really touched my heart.  Unfortunately she failed to win in the comment and photo shoot criteria.

Here is the copy of her entry:

When do I levitate?

I levitate as I wake up in the morning
when I see my boys beside me;
And in the nights,
whenever I see them sleeping
peacefully.

I levitate every time I get a hug and a kiss
from two sweet little boys;
sometimes three.
And when
they call my name "Mama" endlessly,
I feel that the most
important person in the world
is ME.

I levitate when
I know I'd made them happy
Through kind words, praise
and even just with a candy or two.
And every time
they would return the favor
and say "Mama, I love you so."

I levitate
when I see them
as carefree
As any little boys could be;
just three little boys playing,
screaming happily.

As for me, I am happy
Happy
as long as I have
my three boys with me.

Paperless draw of winners!

Here is the thing, I've been tallying the entries for non-bloggers for days now, but doing that while balancing mommy duties, wife duties and not to mention a broken ankle, makes me slow so sorry for that.

I am done now, unfortunately our printer ran out of ink and I don't want to write all your names (it will make my hand full of callouses!). Well good thing it happened, because it made me realize that doing it is just a waste of time and most especially since I am an advocate of green living, I don't want to use paper as much as possible. So, I will do this instead:

use random.org then take a video.

I will announce the non-bloggers winners tomorrow (hope I can upload the video fast).  And, of course, I did not forgot the surprise winner of the writing/blogging contest,  I will announce it too!

Stay Tuned!

I am disabled!

Last Saturday while walking home from a seminar at UP Diliman, I fell down from the overpass at Philcoa (just 1 step). I didn't notice that the last step was too high and because of that, I outbalanced and fell. I can't stand up immediately because I hit my ankle. It took two men to help me stand up since I can't really support myself.

After this incident, I realized at that moment that even a healthy person with complete body parts can be hindered in just a second. And if you think disability means only pertains to a person who has a missing part of his body, and or pertaining to people who are retard that can't think straight like "normal" people, then you are wrong, I believe WE ARE ALL DISABLED in some ways.

The blinds may not have eyes to see the things around them but they can see things that person with two eyes cannot see.

Even my son who cannot express himself yet show me things I never knew. Like this letter for example:

Ren was already fascinated with letters at an early age. There was a time when I asked him what was the letter I was holding and that was the letter P, he paused for a moment looked at the letter and turned it around a few times and told me 4 possible results:

letter P (obviously)
small letter b
small letter d
small letter q

We were all shocked when he showed it to us, a kid who is so young yet can see things we adults didn't even bother to discover, and at that time, it makes us (adults) all disabled.

I am saying this because no one has a right to maltreat people with (obvious) disability.  In our society, we should treat them with equal rights and give them benefits that are necessary.  We (the healthy ones and with no obvious disabilities) people don't know if we will lose those important parts of our body someday so we should do things that will benefit not only us but also these disabled people as well.

I commend the government for providing infrastructures for people in wheelchairs.  I hope more schools will also accept students with disabilities in their classes. I would love to see more employers who will accept people with disabilities in their companies.

WE ARE ALL DISABLED in some ways, so lets learn to respect each others capabilities and limitations.

HELP the Orphans at Asosacion de Damas de Filipinas!

Growing up with only 1 parent is hard, how much more if you don't have BOTH parents by your side while growing up. It's good to know that there are still associations like Asosacion de Damas de Filipinas that takes care of the orphans from birth until they reach their adulthood.

This orphanage is so near to our place.

My husband told me that he will never forget the day that this Orphanage was hit by a fire on the night of the orphans supposed to be Christmas Party (December 3, 1998).  A total of 28 lives were lost on the said fire  (mostly babies, kids and a few adults), and he said that he heard screaming and yet no one can help them because the fire is really huge.

This unfortunate children's only desire is to be loved and have a decent place that they can call home. So, PLEASE help these children see the beauty of the world and give them a reason to be happy and have fun despite the tragic thing that happened to them.

Hizon's Catering will give these kids a party when they reach 10,000 likes on their Facebook Fan Page (click HERE).  They will provide everything from Foods and Drinks and gifts for the children.

I know this is not much so I hope we can all do our share in this project.

If only I have so much to give I will share things to them even without anything in exchange.

BOOK REVIEW: Regret FREE Parenting by Catherine Hickem

Last February I requested a book to review at BookSneeze. It arrived here in the Philippines almost 2 months after. I can't read it in one sitting since my attention sometimes go somewhere else. This is actually a good book but I need to stop once in a while to understand all the values the author is talking about in book. That is why, it's just now that I will publish my review.

This book is recommended for new parents and soon to be parents since it gives advices on how we can raise our kids to their fullest potential. It's a good thing that my son is still young and is still at the formation of his character when I read this book. As a new mom, I can't look for any person to be my guide in bringing out the best in my son. I am not saying that my own mom did not do her work to raise us but it is because every kids are different and unique from each other and strategies on discipline varies from one person to another. This book is an eye opener and helped me realize the important things and points to be an intentional mother.

There are 7 parenting principles in the book and in every stages, Ms.Catherine Hickem shared things and strategies on how we moms can cope up and handle it. This book will show it's readers the following:

  1. Understanding our purpose as a mother
  2. Build Companionship and Trust
  3. Live Peacefully in the teen years
  4. Maintain your position as the parent
  5. Develop Emotional Intelligence
  6. Know the difference between control and intention
  7. Be intentional about being God dependent
Through reading this book, I hope my goal and journey in becoming a good and intentional mom will be achieved.

DISCLAIMER: I got this book for FREE from BookSneeze c/o the Publisher Thomas Nelson.  I am not paid for writing this, but I gave my most honest review about the book which is not necessary to be all positive.

A visit to Marta's Cakes at Serendra The Fort

Last Wednesday after school, Ren and I went to The Fort to get the cupcakes I bought at Marta's cakes. When I saw the store, I felt like a kid again since the store is so colorful.

Ren was quickly mesmerized by the wonderful cake creations that are displayed in the area. I love the little chairs too and if only we were not in a hurry that time, Ren and I might try the cookie or cupcake decorating for P160 to P180.00

The price for the cupcakes though is quite expensive for average people like me (I think it's P70.00/cupcake). But you can try it if you want to have different kind of activities with your kids. I know your little kiddos will love the place and the cake decorating activity.

this is the box of cupcake we took home, thanks to Beeconomic for the 50% discount you offered for this chocolate/pound cake.  I got this 5 cupcakes for P175.00 instead of  P350.00

I received a gift from Momcenter!

Thank you to Momcenter for the gift you've sent me.

Momcenter is a site dedicated for women, wives and of course, moms out there. Being a mom is not that easy, it's fulfilling and rewarding but it's still a tough job. It needs a lot of responsibilities and patience and knowledge. Good thing that now there are various sites like momcenter that offers a resource center that will help us answer our questions.

By choosing this blog to be one of your blog partners, it will now have a direction (yes I admit it doesn't have any direction).

From being a mixed or lifestyle blog I am thinking to make it as a parenting blog.
Readers watch out for a total makeover of Living Life to the Fullest!

I am excited about it.

You can still catch a lot of me at my other blog LEVYousa.com.

Can Algebra help us in everyday living?

I just want to share this story that I heard from the last seminar I attended at UP Diliman Campus last Saturday. The speaker is a Swedish named Farid Nolen. As I've said at my other blog that I think I have ADHD and sometimes getting my attention is really tough, I don't know how this person managed to get my full attention from the start of his speech until the last word that he said. I cannot understand my seatmate at that time who slept the whole time, she missed a lot of valuable insights by the speaker.

I don't have a great memory so I will just share with you some thoughts I learned from Mr. Nolen. He told us a story about when he was just in elementary, his teacher asked him to solve a math problem. The problem is so easy but he still failed to solve it, and he can't even understand why it happened. When the teacher talked to him, he realized that the answer should have a color and since he is somehow a color blinded person, he did not get the right answer. Then the teacher told him that maybe he is not a math person. Those words were etched in his mind, it then became his weapon or maybe his greatest fear.  Every time he saw math problems he would stay away from it, because his mind tells him that it's not his thing.

Years went by, he was able to go to different places and realized that he wanted to settle down and have the things that he always dreamed of, a car, a house and money in the bank. That is when he called his Dad and asked for his help to get a job. His dad told him to call his friend from one of the top leading cellphone brands in Sweden. He called that person and asked if there were any available jobs that he could offer for him. The other person said that they are a company who innovates, they think of ways to improve and redesign cell phones. With the thought that he will receive all his dreams when he will get on the company, he asked the other person for the requirements on how he will be included in the company. The person said that they only hire Mathematicians and/or Engineers. When Mr. Nolen heard it, it's as if his dreams was suddenly crushed. His whole life he has avoided Math and now, that is his only way to get a good job.

We both have the same thought when he asked himself "How will Algebra or any math problems will be related on everyday living?" Like for example a Doctor, will he write on the prescription a formula like a+(b+C)= ab+ac ??? for sure the doctor will loose all of his customers if he will do this.

Although I am not that bad in my Math subject, I am not that good also and I once thought before about how will Math be used in everyday living (especially algebra, trigonometry etc) . I may consider basic math (add, sum, multiply and divide) but algebra??? do we really need it? But the person that Mr. Nolen is talking to said that people that are good in Math are trainable and can think of new ideas since they are always looking for answers.

Now back to the story, Mr. Nolen really wanted to have the job at this company that is why he got all his courage and tried to take the seminar/training provided by the company. At first, he really didn't understand all the lectures but he kept on trying and he never gave up until he was surprised that the day came when he has solved the most difficult math problem he has ever encountered.

That is when he remembered the words his teacher told him when he was young that "he is not a math person". He jokingly told us that maybe his teacher at that time should not be a teacher since how dare she told him that HE CAN'T do something when HE CAN actually do it and that he just needed to be trained and motivated.

To make the long story short, he was being judged at his current capacity that time. Failures in life is our training to find new innovation and look for possible ways to come up with a solution. So, now I am not surprised that some of my classmates before who I thought never listens and are very rude and foolish during class are the ones who have a decent job, a nice car and have a complete family. These people learned to survive and excel through the failures they encountered in their life. Also, I learned here that what we thought became what we are.

So two things I learned from the lecture:
1. Do not judge someone through his current capacity, this person just need to be push to his limit.  You will not GROW if you are afraid of FAILURE, because through failure you will find new innovation.
2. Control your mind, think positive and that will help you become what you always wanted.

Hope you too learned something here.

LEVYtate Contest Winners (BLOGGERS)

after almost 2 days of deliberation, my 2 sisters-in-law have finally chosen a winner.

I received a total of 47 entries, but unfortunately only 35 did all the requirements and was qualified to win the prizes. Last Friday, I sent all the entries to my 2 sisters-in-law. I chose these two people because they are both respective people in their own field, they are not into blogging so they do not know anyone in the blogosphere to make the decision unbiased.

THE JUDGES
1. Helen Castillo- A Graduate of Accountancy at University of Santo Tomas and a Certified Public Accountant. She is currently managing their own business and at the same time working as a Accounting Manager at a Chemical Company.

2. Teresa Martinez- A Graduate of Commerce at University of Santo Tomas. Currently she is working as a professional writer and researcher online with various employers abroad.

Without further ado, may I present to you the TOP11 entries. They have been chosen based on the following criterias:

50%- Creative Writing

CONTEST UPDATE: Patience is a virtue!

It's Friday today, yes I know!!! I know you've been waiting for the announcement of winners since as I've said in my recent contest update that I will announce it today.... but unfortunately I CAN'T and I hope you will understand me. As much as I want to have a word of honor but there are quite numerous reasons why I can't deliver the results today!

So here they are:

1. Since I separated the spreadsheet of the URL posts of the contest sponsors and the URL posts for the answer to the question, now I have to combine the two spreadsheets. I found out that there are some who filled up the spreadsheet with the answer URL but their info was not on the other spreadsheet. This took me a lot of time since I have to identify which URL is for this and for that.

Yeah, LOTS of lessons I learned here!

2. I have to check all the blog comments one by one. I found out that there are some who doubled comments on the post, so I will count it as one. Also the comments of the blog owner is not included in the number so I have to take it off. I can't just get the number of comments shown in the post, so I have to check it thoroughly.

3. I also have to check if you really subscribed and validated your email via my feed burner ( as well as levyousa.com).  I found out that some contestants forgot to verify and have to remind them first, for their entries to be valid.

4. As I've said my son was having a masteral exam from Monday-Wednesday so I know that you will understand that I prioritized to teach him first. I just started checking the entries again Wednesday night.

5. Although we have 2 computers at home, our internet connection is slow when shared. My husband who have online jobs at night need to have fast connection to upload and download his works that is why I cannot use the other computer.

6. The 2 judges of the entries (my 2 topnotch sisters-in-law) are not yet available to judge your entries. Both of them have work so I need to wait for them to give me the result, which I think will be finished this weekend (yet I am still crossing my finger)

This contest really gave me a lot of lessons. I hope you will understand and please stay tuned. I don't want to give an exact date but I HOPE I will have the results on Sunday already.

BTW, here is the list of official contestants:

Grocery Pick: Crunchy Peanut Butter at French Baker!

Yesterday Ren and I went to SM Manila to meet my agent of our Camella Property. We passed by at French Baker to buy some garlic bread when I saw this peanut butter at their shelves.
It's called EHJIE's Peanut Butter!

There are two variants available sweet and creamy and chunky, I chose to buy the chunky that costs P95.00

I asked the manager, if that peanut butter is already available at any SM Supermarket or other supermarkets and he said that it's exclusive at French Baker as of this moment.

When I arrived home I immediately opened the Jar and put it in my cracked pandesal. It's my first time to taste a peanut butter with chunky peanuts on it and I am happy I tried it. This peanut butter taste really good and if you don't like the usual peanut butter with lots of oil at the top, then this one is for you. The packaging is very presentable and the expiration and contents are all indicated at it's packaging.

I bet your little kids will enjoy this also. Why not change the filling of their usual baon to this one, I know they will love it!

Enjoy!
