Protect yourself when travelling, get insurance!

Here is another tip for those who plan on traveling or studying abroad.

Don’t make the mistake going out of the country without the benefit of an appropriate insurance coverage. If you think getting sick in your home country is bad enough, wait till you find yourself in the same situation in a foreign land. Traveling has it's risks but financial disaster due to unforeseen health conditions while abroad should no longer be part of it. It makes perfect sense to have yourself reasonably protected especially if the means to have it is within reach. I myself found a good deal through the Internet.

International travel insurance is a medical insurance plan typically used for short term medical coverage while traveling internationally. It should not be confused with International Health Insurance which is intended for long term coverage specifically for people living abroad. International travel insurance provides for a number of benefits including reimbursement of eligible medical expenses, emergency medical evaluation, emergency dental, accidental death and dismemberment, return of remains, emergency reunion, trip interruption and lost checked luggage. You will be happy to know that many international travel insurance providers offer additional benefits such as hospital indemnity, complications of pregnancy, acute onset of pre-existing condition, natural disaster, terrorism coverage, travel assistance and many others.

I heard that developed countries such as the US, UK and Canada generally require foreign students to have an international student insurance coverage. A US-based insurance provider for example, can provide its product to at least three main types of students namely international students studying in the US, US students studying abroad, and students traveling around the world. Students traveling with families can have a better option through major medical insurance that is annually renewable. An appropriate international student insurance coverage is required by educational institutions prior to enrollment.

Health and emergency medical care is quite expensive in countries like the US. I’ve learned this truth the hard way when I was just starting to travel. Now I know better than to travel without any proper insurance coverage and you should too.

Maria Aragon made it to Ellen de Generes show!

Ellen de Generes was the first person who discovered Charice through You Tube. Thanks to Ellen, Oprah then invited Charice on her show that helped her to be one of the most famous singing sensation in America and became one of the few Filipinas who hit big time abroad.

Now, another Filipina a 10 year old girl named Maria Aragon was invited by Ellen again in her show. This little kid made a hit on Youtube through her rendition of Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way". Well, the truth is, if not with Lady Gaga's tweet "This is why I make music, She is the future." and attached a link to Maria's video maybe it will not reach an awesome number of viewers that as of this writing already reached 13 Million viewers.

Maria is a Canadian citizen but her mother and father are both Filipino. Maybe she hasn't even been in the Philippines and maybe she doesn't know anything about our country, but just like any other foreigner who visited the Philippines for the first time, I know she will love it here too.

We Filipinos are really proud of her.

She is so young and through her voice I believe that she can be the next Britney Spears, Janet Jackson and of course the next Lady Gaga.

Here is a video of Maria's guesting in Ellen:

Yakult as a feminine wash?

I have visited my gynecologist in Manila Doctors Hospital yesterday. It's been almost 3 years since I last went to the gynecologist for check-up. I decided to visit her again because being a fresh 30 years old, I need to make sure that I am healthy from top to bottom, inside and outside.

As usual, the gynecologist first asked a few questions like "when did you had your first menstruation? when was your last period, is your monthly period regular, do you feel any pain or itchiness down there and if you have a discharge?"

I told her that I went there to have a pap smear since I wanted to make sure if my cervix is healthy. For those who never tried pap smear before and are curious how is it done, here is my personal experience to give you an idea about it.

Before going for a pap test, you must check your last menstruation, it should be done 7-10 days after your menstruation and that 3 days prior to your scheduled pap test, you must avoid contact with your partner. When you are ready, the doctor will ask you to remove your undies and will ask you to lie down in an examination bed with your knees wide open. The process is uncomfortable since the doctor will insert an instrument called a speculum into your vagina. This metal instrument will help the doctor see your cervix, after that, she will use a cotton swab or special stick to get few cell samples from your cervix. The cells will then placed on a slide glass that will be forwarded to the laboratory for examination.

The glass slide with the cells specimen expires within 24hours so make sure that it will reach the laboratory room before it expired or else you will repeat the whole procedure all over again. The pap test results will take 1-2 weeks before it becomes available.

Yes getting pap smear is uncomfortable even for a mother that had a normal delivery like me. But I know I need this test for me to know if I have healthy cells in my cervix or if not (knock on wood) since it was detected early, I still have time to treat it.

After the test, my doctor told me that I have few discharge (surprised!) which is why she gave me an anti-fungal oral tablet and she advised me to drink lots of Yakult and Yoghurt. I thought that she was only kidding me, but she said that Yakult has live lactobacillus (good bacteria) that will help get rid of any bad bacteria in my stomach and down there. She even said that some women in other countries are already using Yakult as feminine wash, but she didn't advised to do the same to her patients since it is not yet proven safe and effective.

Yakult as a feminine wash is the weirdest thing I have ever heard.

After stepping out the clinic, I treated myself for a nice blend coffee and went shopping. I felt that I need it after the said procedure!

How about you did you experience having a pap smear? did you feel the same uncomfortable feeling like me?

Did you noticed the BIG moon today? (February 20, 2011)

I had a terrible headache today which is why I was not able to attend the reunion party of my colleagues at my first employer Singer Philippines. I was sleeping all afternoon but I was still able to go to church with my family around 7PM for our Sunday Mass.

When we were walking home, we asked Ren to look for the moon but we can't find it. I noticed that we were looking so high in the sky and yet it was already in front of us. Yes, we were surprised that the moon today was too low and that it looks like a big light bulb at the roof of our neighbors' house.

My geeky husband said that it might be what is called a Perigee, it is when the moon is at it's closest orbit to earth.

We forgot to take a picture of the moon, but if you didn't saw it today, here is an exact picture of what we saw a while ago.

Is Charice a member of the Illuminati?

Every time Ren goes to the therapy center (aka school), I have one hour available time to go to the nearest computer shop or nearby bookstore to have a research or just read. Last Friday, students beside me were talking about Charice as being a member of the Illuminati group. I have no idea what Illuminati means, but I was very curious about their reactions so I researched about it on the web.

I saw this video of her making a symbol of the so called Illuminati which is the Udjat or all seeing eye.
Illuminati symbolism of their watchful eye is the eye of providence from freemasonry which is derived from the eye of Horus in ancient Egypt. It's the most undeniable clue to the Illuminati's existence in modern times.

Upon further researching, I found out that there are other artists who blatantly display the Watchful eye symbol, Lady Gaga, Jay-Z and Beyonce to name a few. Some people might say that is simply ”a cool thing to do” or a just “fashion statement", so I leave it up to you to decide.

What to do when you are disappointed?

There's a time in our life that we feel disappointed, whether it is because we got low grades, failed to lose weight, or didn't get what we want.

Disappointment is very hard to control, it may end in restless night, stress and worst suicide. As a normal individual, what I usually do if I am sad and disappointed is to keep my mouth shut and just cry inside my room at night, that is, if it can wait that long. I cry because that is the only way I know to release the pain I feel without others knowing it.

After that, sadly, I am still hurt, it didn't go away overnight but slowly I know I am healing. I am not an expert in advises but I have some suggestions on how we can beat disappointments in life.

I read a lot of magazines and keep my mind busy to avoid thinking about the sad situation.

I also think positive things and childhood happy memories to forget the sad things that failed me.

I always think that I am not alone in this journey and that another person out there maybe is experiencing worse than me. Of course I am not happy for the person who experience trials and hardships in life, but knowing their story help keep my faith stronger and reminds me to be contented in life.

Make the situation a learning experience and learn from it. Learn to expect less, and imagine things unreachable to avoid being disappointed if that thing is not met.

And most especially I pray and ask God's help to make me more mature and be a better person that He wants me to be.

How about you, how do you handle disappointment?

Wise words and tips to reflect on!

I bought a desk calendar last January so that I will not miss any bills that are due or any important events. I noticed that there are inspirational quotes on every month in the calendar. The quotes are very nice and I wanted to share them with you.

Enjoy!

God will never leave you empty
He will replace everything you've lost
If He asks you to put something down
It's because He wants you to pick up something greater!!!

If God, answers our prayer, He is increasing our faith
If He delays, He is increasing our patience
If He does not answer, He has something better for you.

Count your blessings instead of your crosses
Count your gains instead of your losses
Count your health instead of your wealth
and count on God instead of yourself

Everything in life has a purpose
There are no mistakes, coincidences
Events are blessings given to us
to learn from it.

Six ways to be happy!
Free your heart from hatred
Free your mind from worries
Live simply
Expect less
Give more
Always pray!

God said-If you never felt pain
then how would you know I'm a HEALER?
If you never felt sadness,
how would you know I'm a COMFORTER?
If life were perfect, would you still know ME?

When God asks you to let go of something
you've held on to for so long,
it is because He wants your hands to be free,
for a bigger gift He has prepared for you,
Let GO and let God!

God speaks to those who take time to listen, and
He listen to those who take time to pray

Have a blessed Sunday everyone... and happy hearts day!

Our first visit at Active Fun SM North Edsa!

Last February 5, we went to SM North Edsa to use the voucher I've purchased from ENSOGO. I got the ticket for only P160.00 which was half the price for the unlimited pass on Active Fun worth P300.00. I purchased two tickets so I asked my niece to come along.

Because of this trip, I was able to know that the LRT was already extended from it's original destination from Monumento to Roosevelt. Going to SM North Edsa and Trinoma now is very convenient with this new development. My niece and nephew told me that it was their first time to ride a train that is why they were very thankful we allowed them to come (touchy!)

My niece-Allenase

My nephew Ron, husband-Noel and son-Ren

When we arrived at SM North Edsa, we are very hungry already. So we decided to eat at KFC first. I saw that they have a new bucket meal which features Looney Toons characters on the bucket and you can avail of a free re-usable bag with two characters to choose from : Tweety bird and Bugs Bunny. I choose the Tweety Bird bag.... hmmp if only there was a Tazmanian Devil design then that will be the one I will choose.

Anyway, since SM North Edsa is very far from our place we seldom go there which is why we are not that familiar with the place. There has been a lot of renovations of the mall and we already don't know where to go from here to there. The Active Fun is located at 3/F SM Annex, we don't know to get there, thankfully there are lots of guards in the area to ask for directions.

When we arrived in Active Fun, there were still a few kids playing inside. They have play rooms for big kids and another one for toddler and babies. The best attraction I saw there was a big slide but my niece said that she enjoyed on the trampoline more.

the large slide was a hit for the kids
Ren was so very happy, sometimes I cannot even see where he is. Good thing is that the area is very safe for hyper kids like him. We even didn't get a nice shot of him since he is faster than a click from the camera.

If only the place is near in our area then maybe Ren is always there every weekends.

Excited to transfer to our new house!

My mom and siblings are already excited and is looking forward for the last quarter of this year to come. It is because when that time comes they can already move to the new house my husband and I bought for them (thanks to online earnings). The house is now under construction and we are hoping that by December, they will already celebrate their first Christmas there.

Now, what we are only thinking is how to get additional budget in order to improve it's interiors. We are also already looking for a moving truck that will transfer all their things to the current place to the brand new house. I am considering a good UMoveFree Review so that we can receive a great deal for a fast and quality service.

My mom has lots of things she want to transfer in the new house like her sewing machine that is too big for an ordinary vehicle like jeep or car. Only a truck can carry huge appliances to avoid scratches and possible breakage.

We are really excited with this!

Azkals Team T-shirt by Team Manila and Phil Young asked Angel to be his date on Vday!

I saw this t-shirt which was designed by Team Manila as a tribute to the Philippine National Football team "The Azkals" which was worn by my high school friend Paul in Facebook. I really liked the design, which is why I checked it out immediately at Team Manila's online shop since I want to purchase one for me and for my husband as well, but unfortunately it's OUT OF STOCK!
How can something which is "in" and "hot" these days be out of stocks? Well, maybe they don't want me to spend anymore online earnings for impulsive buying that's why.

Anyway, in other news, I have read a tsismis today which made me super kilig (talking like Kris Aquino here!)

I have read that one of the Azkal's member named Phil Younghusband is asking Angel Locsin on Twitter if the latter is available on Valentines day. This tweet of Phil made the twitter world and all those who follow the young actress and the hot rob player go crazy. Unfortunately, Angel replied that she is not available on Valentines day since she needs to go to work. But she said in the end that they can still go out next time.(read whole story from PEP)

they look good together, aren't they?

Diamond Peel, Is it okay?

Being in my 30's already, I should take care of my skin more seriously. But I am still young in terms of thinking, so it should also reflect in my aura right? I can't say that I am not beauty conscious since I am open to try any products available in the market to make me more irresistible nyahaha. I already tried lots of products but since I tend to quickly switch from one product to another, I don't know what products is really right for my skin .

Last year, I started having a facial treatment. It was my first time that another person is the one getting rid of my white heads and black heads on my face. Having that procedure really hurts and until now, I still have teary eyes after every sessions. But, after the facial treatment, I can say that my face feels lighter, cleaner and smoother.

I usually hear that the diamond peel procedure is a lot better than the normal facial. I haven't tried it yet but I am planning to have one especially since I saw a great deal at Beeconomic, wherein I can have 2 Diamond Peel sessions at The Spa for half the original price. I will only have to pay P1,800 for 2 sessions (valued at P3,600).

In my face, my problem area is my nose. It is where I usually have pimples and it leaves scars after a while. I hope it will be gone after just a few sessions of the Diamond Peel. I want a healthy younger looking skin, without undergoing any surgical procedures that is why I am also considering in trying the Diamond Peel procedure.

So, let's see if after my treatment we can already see any visible effect.

How about you dear readers? Have you ever tried having a Diamond Peel? Where did you have it? What are your experiences while undergoing treatment? I would love to hear your stories.
