BLOG REVIEW: How Lucky Zoan is?

For those who don't know who Zoan is and why she is lucky, well join me in knowing her more.

First, she is lucky because she has a very handsome 3 yrs old son. Although she is a single mom, she can live comfortably through her own farming business.

Second, she is lucky because she was chosen as one of the SEA Change delegates to go to Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Imagine out of 500,000 youths, she was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the 500 youths from all over Southeast Asia to become delegates for the said youth event. She had a Free Round trip ticket, Free Hotel accommodation and an allowance of 100RM.

I haven't tried riding a plane, so since it's her first time to a ride a plane I can't imagine how thrilling it might was.

Third, She won in "Tara na sa Malaysia" contest. And because of that she went to Malaysia and Thailand for the 2nd time around. She's very lucky right!!!

Fourth, She already visited Hong Kong, Disneyland and Macau. (envy... envy... envy) hehehe...

These are some of the reasons why I think she titled her blog LuckyZoan.

Do you need some extra cash?

Did you encounter the time that even though you are so frugal and keeping your finances in a budget you still experience some financial difficulties? My family is no exemption in this hardship. It's raining season once again and our the roof above our comfort room needs some major repair.  This is the disadvantage of hiring an unprofessional carpenter.  Maybe he doesn't know how to put the roof the proper way that's why it didn't last for long since we just had it repaired last year and now it's already leaking.  This coming month, we will also start paying for the brand new townhouse we just bought, it's on the budget but the first payment is 1 day ahead of the payday.  That's why I need to borrow some extra cash to cover it up just for this month.

I am thinking of making some cash advance on my credit card. It's faster and easier than borrowing from somebody else. But, although cash advance is extremely convenient, you should take them in moderation since the interest rates are quite higher than the normal loan. That is why, I am only considering in doing this if the situation really calls for it and that I make sure that I can pay for it on the cut-off date.

On the other hand, my mom has another option when having some financial difficulties.  She will pawn the SSS pension of my Dad to some lending companies. The prevailing interest is lower compared to cash advance loan but the process is longer.  She needs to sign up some forms and wait for it for some hours to be released.

Whatever we choose we should always keep in mind to pay it back.

BLOG REVIEW: Heart's Content of a Mama

I've got so many things to talk about the author of this blog, and I don't know where to start. Maybe, let's start with the previous name of the blog which is Melcole of PA USA with a blogger domain. Just this month, Melcole (the author) changed it to Heart's Content of a Mama now with her own domain name. I want to congratulate you dear Mel for having your own domain, how I wish I have the courage to change mine also.

This is one of the blogs I love the most. I can't remember how I discovered this wonderful blog but I remember the time when Mel awarded me a very special award that she personally made. I got it just by commenting on one of her post. She is so sweet and kind and since then I never forgot her.



We had one thing in common, just like me, she is also a stay at home mom and that she gave up her career for her family, she's a registered nurse by the way. And she is also one of the first batch of fresh nurses in Philippines when the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) made the best and new patterns of Board Exam questions for nurses.

What I like the most with the author is her talent in arts and crafts. She can transform an ordinary egg to this one "Ukrainian Eggs". This pictures really makes my jaw drops every time I see it.

I really salute you Mel for doing these amazing stuffs. How I wish I also have that creativity in me, and not to mention the green thumb that you have since you can plant whatever you like in your garden and also your excellent skills in cooking.  Your husband is a lucky man for having you as a wife. 

Okay, I know here I am again I am talking a lot about the author and not the blog itself.

Hearts content of a Mama has a 2 column lay-out.  All the widgets are neatly placed in the sidebar.  It is a PR3 blog with around 500,000 Alexa Ranking.  The blog is about Mel's family life experiences and she also include her baby's milestones, her family activities, her hobbies in cooking, gardening, handmade art and crafts, valuable collections, freebies and giveaways that she like to join.

BLOG REVIEW: Mga Kwentong ma Alamat

Mga Kwentong ma Alamat is a blog managed by Dennis. I knew Dennis back in 2001, we were officemates in one of the leading sewing machine companies here (Singer Philippines). He was in the I.T. Department while I was in the Accounting Department. After 5 years, we saw each other again on Facebook, and I was not surprised when I found out that he has a blog too. I know that just like me, he also spends almost all the time of the day in front of the computer.

Oh my, I forgot that I need to review the blog itself and not to make an autobiography of the author. Okay so here it goes.



The blog Mga Kwentong ma Alamat uses 3 columns template and is a PR2 blog.  He is also a member of Nuffnang Philippines and YouSayToo.  If you didn't know he is one of the 68 bloggers who won in Nuffnang 1st ever contest last October 2008. 

I love how the author writes, it's so easy to read, simple and funny. I love his recent post about his new pet Tarantula named Aragog Jr. (he's weird isn't he?). He named it after Hagrid’s pet Aragog (a really big spider from Harry Potter). If you want some good laugh just read his recent post. The blog is a combination of the authors everyday endeavors.  From Politics, to Sports to Celebrities etc. name it and he got it.  We have rooted for the same person we believe to be best president in the last election, Sec. Richard "Dick"Gordon but unfortunately he lost.  


For some, this blog might be new to your ear but I highly recommend this to everyone to hop on and read his article.  If you want to be updated in his post, you can sign up on his RSS feed or be one of his Google friend.
