I want to have a new house!

When our house in Alabang was destroyed by the fire, I realized that it's really time to buy a house for my family. My mom doesn't want to stay in our place here in Manila because she said that it's too far from their place in Alabang and maybe she is more at home in that area. That's why we decided to look for houses near the vicinity. Originally, hubby and I wanted to invest in a condominium since it's nearer in the commercial areas but we have changed our mind because we also want to have our own cozy little place to live by when we are already old and grey.

Camella offered a Free Tripping last Sunday and we didn't hesitate to come. We saw a lot of model houses ranging from 900k-3M. One model really got my attention, the Margarita unit:

SPECIFICATION: Flr Area: 46 sqm Lot Area: 40 sqm (it's small but it's okay), 2 bedrooms, 1 T&B, Kitchen, Dining and Living Room. As of this writing, the price of this unit is around 1.2M but they said that they will have a 3-5% price increase by June 2010. The unit is still for construction and will be available by 2011. We love the location (in Daang Hari, Cavite) because it's so near in Alabang, it's just 15min away. Another thing that we liked about the place is the amenities there:  playground, swimming pool, basketball court and a secured main gate.

We are still preparing some documents to submit for their requirements, and hoping that we will be approved. Real estate property is a really nice investment especially if you get the right location at the right time (preferably pre-selling since the price is lower).

I feel that 2 yrs. from now with the fast development of that area the prices of houses near there will boom, so I hope we can get one as early as now.

For more information and for free tripping please contact:
Precy and tell her that you heard it from Levy (that's me)

8-Month Baby Hears for First Time

Baby Jonathan was deaf from birth, but received a cochlear implant at 8
months. The way his expression changes when the device is turned on and
he hears his mother’s voice for the first time is pretty amazing. His
father videotaped the moment.

YAHOO! Bloguardian Hellsite: Overcashed is back! It's time to party!

Contest

Bloguardian Hellsite: Overcashed
is back! Time to reunite with M3o. Let us all spread the word!
Come, join the welcome party! It's raining champagne and DOLLARS now!

I really missed this site. It was gone for a few weeks but thankfully it came back online again.  My mind was beginning to play tricks on me and I was thinking of reasons on what had really happened: Has she finally won the jackpot in the lottery and gave up blogging? or did she win a vacation trip besides the stuff she have won on Salad Bowl of Thoughts?  I am so thrilled the other day that I finally saw a new post on it.

She has a mini contest on her blog right now to celebrate the resurrection of her blog, what a come back!

She has a question and she wants some advise.  I am not that techie, so I need to consult some people to give her the best possible answer.  So here's the question:  Now that BHO is back, should I migrate it to Wordpress while it is up? Why or why not? This means I have to change domain as well, what will I do with BHO's PR4?

whew, this is such a hard question since I also want to have my own domain but what makes me think twice for doing it was my PR which is PR3, and what more with her.. the BHO is a PR4 blog (eye rolling).

Photobucket

I got this answer from my husband and one of her friend since they both transferred their blogs to wordpress from blogspot, considering that their old site was PR3.  Good to know that the new sites got thePR3 after few months. So here it is:

It actually depends on which direction you really want your blog to go. There are really almost equal amount of positive and negative points to consider when deciding the move. For one thing, the PR of your blog will not be transferred when you move. And also if there are advertisers currently on your blog, some of them may turn away and not advertise anymore bacause the traffic will eventually dwindle. On the other hand, the positive thing that would happen is your site would be more reliable and stable. Also eventually by being serious in link building again and site marketing, your PR will eventually go up again over time. And by getting your PR back, advertisers will start getting Ads on your site again.

So my answer to your question is this: If your income greatly depends on the ads of your blogs, then you should just stick with blogspot. But if you are not really making a lot of money on your blog then it is ok to transfer and just double your efforts to get it right back on it's feet.

I hope we helped you Liz in deciding.  Good luck! Photobucket

It's time to withdraw some money from paypal

Public Service: The dollar rate today (May 26, 2010) is $1= 45.86 Philippine Peso.  To those who always check the dollar rate in Paypal, you might agree with me that the rate is high today.  So, I think this is the best time to withdraw some of your hard earned money in Paypal.  If you will not use it, you have a choice to keep it in the bank or you can lend it to me Photobucket (hehehe! just kidding).

Vice ganda Vs. Tado at Showtime!

I always watch Showtime, it's my favorite show every morning since the judges really makes me laugh especially Gladys Reyes and Vice Ganda. The kids in the neighborhood are sometimes the ones who remind me to open our T.V. when it's already 10:30 AM, they will say "Ate Levy, Showtime na!" hehehe...

This morning, Showtime is very controversial and I really felt the tension between the judges Vice Ganda and  the new judge Tado.

Vice Ganda was pissed off  by Tado's comment on one of the contestants that has a name of "Lahing Matapang" since Tado said that their performance is so gay. Vice reacted and questioned Tado if what's the problem of being a gay. Tado answered Vice to just read his shirt, which says "Hindi bale ng magnakaw kesa mamakla" (It's better to steal than to have a relationship with a gay). Whew!

Knowing Vice, he will stand up for the Gay Community and because of that he gave Tado harsh words.

Since the show was watched by million of people all over the world, different reactions came up. Some said that Vice should also accept criticism since he too always criticize others in the show.  He must be sport and musn't take it personally.  Some even said that Vice is the next Willie Revillame.  I think even though Tado had offended and hurt Vice, the thing that happened had a positive impact on him, since at the end he still said "I love you, Vice", and Vice didn't accepted it and said that "I don't love you Tado". Some people including me felt pity for Tado for all the hurtful words Vice had said to him.

Some said that Vice should practice what he preached since he always says "Don't judge others", but he's the first one to do it with others.

In the end, I really want this issue be resolved.  Let's see what will happen tomorrow in the show. Here's the copy of the conversation of Vice Ganda and Tado.

Keeping Track of Investments

If you are an investor, you know the potential of municipal bonds, also known as muni bonds. A municipal bond is when a government agency or a company needs a loan to fund a project. They issue a bond and then the public is allowed to buy the bond with the understanding that the nominal amount will be paid back to them when the bond matures. Along the way, the company or agency that issued the bond is required to pay the investor interest on the loan. It is usually paid out every six months.

There are other types of investments besides municipal bonds, but they tend to be a bit riskier, so if you invest in them you might lose money. The riskiest type of investment is to buy stock in a new company. If the company goes into bankruptcy, you will lose your money. With bonds, you are given interest and then given back the amount you initially invested when the bond matures, making it a safer choice.

When you are an investor, sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of all of your investments. Plus, once you get some experience, you don't want to pay a financial advisor money to keep an eye on them when you think you can do it yourself. If this is the case for you, then you should look into some of the portfolio analysis products available on the Internet. Some of the programs are very complex and can give you comparison graphs and charts with the click of a button. You can keep track of your municipal bonds, stocks, and other investments all in one place. This way it will be easy to know when a bond is about to mature or the optimal time to sell a stock.

My first time experience with the new train of PNR

Last Sunday when I went home to Cupang Muntinlupa to check our burned house, my sister and I decided to take the train since we know it's the fastest way we can arrive to our destination. Besides we want to try the new train of the PNR because we heard that it was just like LRT minus the electricity. And we also want to save 50% of the fare in the bus (the bus fare from Paco to Alabang is P30 while the PNR fare from Paco to Alabang is only P15)

My sister took some pictures of the train, this is what it looks like inside:

(it's air conditioned, and it's really looks like the LRT)

(the man walking in yellow polo shirt is the conductor, he checks for new passenger and asks for their fare)

(the train dropping points)

(reminders to all the passengers)

These are the photos we took outside the train:

(the window has a screen protector to avoid being hit by flying rocks being thrown by the people near the railroad)

(people love riding in this train)

I was satisfied riding in the new train of the PNR.
They exceeded my expectation and I am so proud of them. My sister who studied in PUP always rides in the PNR, and the train she had rode before is stinky and very uncomfortable.  This new train is very different, she even said that the new batch of students is very lucky to have this train as their way of transportation. The people living besides the railroad before was relocated by the government to some place that is why the surroundings is cleaner too.

Before, you should always watch out for the window since my sister experienced being hit by water with a foul smell, while my brother was hit by a rotten guava that was thrown by some stupid people besides the railroad. Now, since the train windows are closed and was protected by the screen, passengers should not worry about being hit.

Next Sunday when I go back to Alabang I will surely ride in the PNR again.

You should try it, and tell me if you have the same nice experience as mine.

Signs that Someone You Know Is Abusing Drugs

Are you worried that a family member, friend, co-worker, or someone else you know is addicted to drugs? It's hard to broach the topic because you wouldn't want to offend them if you were wrong. Well, here are some signs you should look for if you're worried someone you know is abusing drugs:

Physical Signs of Drug Abuse

Those who abuse drugs will often have physical signs of the abuse. Often, their eyes are bloodshot and their pupils will either be bigger or smaller than before. Drug abusers will often have changes in appetite causing either a weight gain or a weight loss. Drug abuse will also affect their sleeping patterns.

Those who abuse drugs are less likely to keep up their physical appearance as well and will often smell unusual. Other physical signs of drug abuse include tremors and slurred speech.

Changes in Behavior

Those who have recently started using drugs heavily will have a change in their typical behavior. They'll stop attending work or school (or will attend less often), they'll ask for money but won't say what the money is for, and they might start stealing money. They'll also start acting suspicious — not wanting to say where they're going or what they'll be doing.

Psychological Changes

Drug abuse can also lead to a shift in a person's brain. Extended drug use physically alters the brain so it doesn't function the same as it did before. This can lead to a change in personality; it can also cause mood swings and irritability.

If someone close to you is exhibiting these symptoms, it may be time to find help. There's a myth out there that claims if someone doesn't get help voluntarily, it won't work. Statistics show that those who are forced into a drug abuse rehab facility (whether by family, the court, or an employer) are just as likely to be successful.

Online Poker Sports book

It wasn’t a surprise to anyone after online betting exploded and sports book sites started showing up on the Internet that one of the most popular card and casino games of all time would also become one of the biggest draws for online betting. Yes, we are talking about poker.

 Poker Lifestyle

Poker is one of the biggest sports book activities in the world—there are something like 545 poker sites on-line—because it is a game that most people are familiar with. Betting for other kinds of sports can be confusing and a little risky, but people feel confident about poker. In fact, some people are so comfortable with poker that it becomes a hobby or a lifestyle rather than just a game.

Any Level of Play

No matter how much money you have or what your skill level is, you can find a sports book site for poker that will match both your ability and your purse. Some players prefer to find a good sports book site and then stick with it, while others want to play the sites with the biggest wins. Some sites even offer tournaments that let the players win their way into real life poker games.

To find the best poker room for you, start by using one of the great review sites on the Internet. You can read rankings and customer reviews for the top poker sports book sites so you can find one that is a perfect fit. This site also gives sign-up bonuses and easy sign up buttons to the sites they review.

If you are new to poker but eager to learn, do an Internet search to find sites that offer free lessons and software downloads to get you started. You can get used to online poker without any money involved before you move to one of the higher stakes sites.
