San Marino Corned Tuna vs. Century Corned Tuna

For those who don't know yet there are new canned goods in the supermarket right now, it's the CORNED TUNA. If you saw the commercial of Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera about San Marino Corned Tuna maybe just like me you will be curious what does it taste like. So, when we went last Monday in the supermarket we looked for San Marino Corned Tuna, to my surprise I saw that the leading Tuna in the market, the Century Tuna, also has a Corned Tuna variety. Since we haven't tasted corned tuna before we bought the two, so that we will know what taste better.

I opened the San Marino brand first, I had it for breakfast Tuesday morning and I really enjoyed it. It's very different from the normal Tuna Flakes because it has lesser oil. I unconsciously ate the whole can, and I don't usually do it in normal Tuna Flakes. To my excitement to know the taste of the Famous Century Tuna, I asked my husband if we can have it for dinner. When I opened Century Tuna I saw that even the looks of the two brands is different, San Marino's Tuna is darker than Century's Tuna. Century Tuna has onion bits while San Marino doesn’t have it. For the taste, well for me the newcomer's taste is really better than the leading brand's. I don't know guys, but I didn't even finish my meal that night. Century Corned Tuna is not that bad, maybe I just expected too much from them.

My story during the bad storm.

Last Saturday typhoon Ondoy hit Metro Manila badly. We were not watching TV because my son only likes to watch his DVDs, so we don't have any idea that the typhoon will hit us.  We were not prepared because I thought that the eye of the typhoon was at the other provinces because that always happens.  We don't have any food and we also did not put our furnitures to a higher ground.  We knew that it was raining but since we are not used to experiencing flood in our area we taught that we would be safe. Six O’clock in the evening, my husband can no longer stop the water coming through our door, so we decided to lift our furnitures upstairs.  He looks very exhausted; even though I want to help him I can't because I am the one taking care of our son. I realized that it is the negative side if you are living alone, you don't have anyone to turn to.  Although my sister-in-law place was nearby, we can’t always ask for their help since they also have the same problem.  Their grocery store was also reached by the flood and they need to transfer all their belongings to higher ground.  Good thing we already ate our dinner before it had happened.

Although we have a 2nd floor, the roof in our room has a leak because of the continuous rainfall, while the other room which has no leak was used for storage.  By 8PM we decided to go to my brother-in-law's house because it is more concrete and safe.  We only brought a few things: milk, water, and pillows.  My son is not used to sleeping in another house that's why he is asking us to go home ("uwi"... "uwi"... he said).  At first, we taught that he might go to sleep after a while but he didn't until 3AM so, we decided to go back to our house.  When we went down stairs, we were shocked that although it is not raining anymore the water is now knee deep. It was higher than the time we left the house.  The things that we taught that will not be reached were already soaked in the flood.  My son on the other hand is laughing seeing this; it looks like he wanted to play in the water around the house.  What a very innocent young man. My husband and I decided to go to sleep first (we are so restless), and we will just clean the house the next day when the water has already gone down.

RICH PTC, a SCAM!

Last Wednesday, while surfing the internet Rich PTC got my attention.  They asserted that they will enrich your wallet because they are paying $1 for every ads you click, $10 for every site you will join, and 50% referral earnings.  My eyes widened upon seeing this; I said to myself that this is the website that might change my life.  I haven't seen any PTC that is paying $1/click!  To my anticipation, I sign up right away, I will not let this thing pass me.  I am so thrilled! On the 1st day I had 7 ads to click and that is $7 already.  Then the next day I checked if there are available ads to click and to my surprise there are 6 ads again, and it didn't even reached 24hours.  So, in short, I've got $13 for almost 2 days.  I even computed my earnings per day to achieve the minimum payout which is $1,000 (that's a lot of money here in the Philippines).  When my husband arrived yesterday, he asked me if I checked the PTC sites before I joined them.  He wants to know if it's a SCAM or not.  I even exasperated by his question, because I don't want to be disappointed if ever it's a scam.  So, I told him that he should be the one who should check it.  When he searched it in Google, he found out some sites that are stating that it was a SCAM.  I can’t believe it myself until I read all the testimonies of every person there.  A bunch of them says that they were on the sites proof of payment list, but didn’t even reached  it yet. 

Some said that they already asked for payout 3 times already but haven’t received anything from them.  I am really disappointed, but I learned my lesson also.  Never trust a site unless you heard that it’s already paying others.  I immediately remove the site in my Widget “Earn Extra $$$ Here”.  I don’t want to promote a SCAM website.   Good thing I am not into it for more than 2 days, my time and effort was not wasted that much.  Thank God for giving me a smart husband. 

I am so upset with these people running these sites, they are taking advantage of poor people who want to earn a little bit of cash in this dreadful economy.  These sites must be banned so that no more people will be fooled.

Mio's Fight Cancer: Concert for a Cause

I've been following Mio's journal to fight cancer ever since it was started by his mom. My heart is touched by every stories in their blog. Since the internet is really a useful tool, Mio reached the hearts of every people of all ages and races, from ordinary people who raised funds for his chemo to celebrities and performers.  Maja Salvador and best friend Denise Laurel visited Mio and other cancer patients in the hospital and they came up with the idea that they will celebrate their birthday for a good cause.

On September 30 (update: THE CONCERT HAS BEEN MOVED TO OCTOBER 9), a benefit concert will be held at the Music Museum around 8:00 in the evening.  The proceeds are for Mio and other cancer patient's kids.  I really hope I can go, since the last concert I attended was a decade ago (I think!).  It's the concert of my favorite singer Aiza Seguerra with Barbie Almabis at the Music Museum.  I can't leave my son to anybody and of course I can't bring him there so it's really impossible that we can go.

But for those who love to attend concert and gigs, then I advice everyone to please Go there! You will absolutely enjoy the show and can even help cancer patient kids.
