Transformer 2, keeps me and my husband in love

photo via: flickr

Yah, that's right the movie Transformers made our relationship stronger.  It's sounds funny isn't it? yet it's true.  We watched the part 2 of Transformers yesterday, we left my little son to my mom.  This is the first time we had a movie date after I gave birth, the last movie we watched was I think the part one of Transformers and I am still pregnant then. He is a kid at heart so when he heard that the movie is already showing he told me to save a portion of his salary so that we can watch  it.  I loved the movie, but not as much as he loved it.  He's a fan of Transformers cartoons ever since he was a child and until now that he's already on his 30's he's still thrilled everytime he had the chance to watch it.

As we all know, this is not a romantic movie, but then again the effect on my husband is diiferent. At the mall he became sweeter and thoughtful.  He didn't want to let go of my hands, and he always want to kiss me. Actually, he is really like that when we are still younger and not yet married.  I just didn't expected that he will be the same man as he was before.  He even told me that he will still love me even though we're already old (with wrinkled skin and white hair).  Isn't that sooo sweet?

We are really so much in love, I really hope we will not change as the years goes by.

Recipe for the Week: Kare-Kare

Aside from Pinakbet, this dish is also one of my favorite Filipino food.

Estimated cooking time: 2 hours

1/4 cup grounded toasted rice
1/2 cup cooked bagoong alamang (anchovies)
2 pieces onions, diced

4 pieces eggplant, sliced 1 inch thick
1 bundle Pechay (Bok choy) cut into 2 pieces
1 bundle of sitaw (string beans) cut to 2" long
1 banana bud, cut similar to eggplant slices, blanch in boiling water
1/2 cup oil
8 cups of water
Salt to tasteKare Kare

Cooking Instructions:
1. In a stock pot, boil beef and oxtails in water for an hour or until cooked. Strain and keep the stock.
2. In a big pan or wok, heat oil and atsuete oil.

Production designer of the movie "Up" a Filipino!

Here's another reason for me to be proud of being a Filipino.  I've read from the ABS CBN site a while ago that the Production Designer of the upcoming Pixar movie "Up" is a Filipino.

He's name is Ricky Nierva, a native of San Diego. A young animator who, in 1997, was invited to join Pixar and his first work for them was for "Monster's Inc."

"Up" is Nierva's first movie as a production designer. The movie introduces Pixar's first major Asian-American character: Russell, the wilderness explorer.  Nierva said it was important to him as a Filipino to represent Russel in a positive way. Pixar even cast an Asian kid to give Russell his voice.

We are proud of you Ricky! Mabuhay ka!

Being a part of any animated movie was my husband's Greatest dream.  Right now, he's doing everything he can to be known in this field.  He always wish that someday his work will be recognized by these companies.  He feels excited everytime he hears this kind of news, he always says to himself,  "someday, my name will also be in the movie's credits."

I hope his dream will come true a little sooner.
